How to report a stray safely

A short checklist before you post: what to note, what not to do, and how to keep yourself and the animal safe.
1. Keep a safe distance — especially with injured or scared animals. 2. Note the exact landmark, time, and animal condition. 3. If possible, take a clear photo from a safe place. 4. Do not chase or corner the animal. 5. Share the case on Poppins so nearby helpers can respond.
If the animal is in immediate danger (traffic, severe injury), call a local volunteer or clinic first, then open a case so others can follow up.
